Kit Loveless, age 55 of Newcastle, passed away Friday, June 5, 2020. Kristy Lynn Loveless was born April 22, 1965 in Marion, IN, the middle daughter, and one of four children born to Pete and Lou Williams. She was raised primarily in Marion, eventually graduating high school in Gas City in 1983. Kit attended Junior College for a short time, then transferred to Ball State where she received her bachelor’s degree in Science and next, Purdue University for a bachelor’s degree in Art and lastly, earned her final bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma. Kit was inquisitive, loved a good challenge and was always learning. Now a young lady, Kit answered the call to serve her country and joined the United States Air Force. This new and exciting challenge would lead her all over the world, learning new things from this very rewarding career. While in the Air Force, she was stationed in Japan and Travis Air Force Base. Later she went to the OKANG and was deployed to Saudi Arabia, Uzbekistan, Tabuk, Oman, United Arab Emirates, Panama, Puerto Rico, and so many others. Her last occupational adventure was working for the FAA at Will Rogers Airport. In all these positions she worked as an avionics/aircraft electrician and this vocation suited her well. While in the Air Force, Kit met a young man from Newcastle, OK named Mike Loveless. These two were always friends, and shared many experiences including being deployed together to OIF and OEF. On December 6, 2015, Kit and Mike followed their hearts and got married. They purchased a Lake House on Lake Eufaula, where they enjoyed fishing and swimming. Kit studied different culinary practices in her various stops around the world, and will be forever remembered for her “Nese” dishes. She had a green thumb, and could literally grow anything, and she loved tending to her garden. Her greatest joy was spending time with Mike, their family, friends, and fishing. She will be dearly missed!

Vickie Ragland, age 70 of Oklahoma City, passed away Saturday, June 6, 2020, at Integris Southwest Medical Center in Oklahoma City.
Mindy Wilson, age 56 of Newcastle, passed away Thursday, May 21, 2020. Mindy Kay Wheeler was born June 17, 1963 in Clayton, NM, the youngest of three children born to Norris and Margaret Wheeler. She was raised in Woodward, and attended school there, graduating with the Boomer Class of 1981. After high school, Mindy worked for a couple of local companies, doing accounting and bookkeeping. She then moved to Oklahoma City, and began working for TRIAD Drilling. Mindy married Jerry Wilson, and to this union, son Jeremy and daughter Melissa were born. They were her pride and joy, and she lived everyday for them. Mindy later took a job at Southwestern Bell working in the Fraud Division. She retired from A.T.&T. with 20 years of dedicated service in March of this year. Mindy loved working in her yard, tending to her flower beds and garden. She was an avid collector, loved reading a good crime novel, and was a hopeless romantic when it came to Hallmark movies. She enjoyed the simple things in life, and spent a lot of time on her patio, taking in the sunshine and the sights of the day. She was the best mother and daughter, a wonderful sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!
Lois Martin, age 75 of Newcastle, passed away Wednesday May 20, 2020. Lois Jean Anderson was born April 19, 1945 in Okla. City, OK, the oldest of 4 children born to Truman and Marie Anderson. She was raised in Blanchard and attended school there, graduating with the Lion’s Class of 1964. Lois’s life was changed forever when she reunited with an old high school friend from Newcastle. He was working on his car when two ladies walked by. He knew he had to say something to her, and so he picked him self up and started a conversation. His name was Ray Martin, and this conversation would lead to many more. On August 8, 1964, Lois married Ray in Blanchard. They made their home in Newcastle, where together they raised two sons, Kevin and Kyle. For many years, Lois worked as a cashier for Richards Grocery Store in Blanchard. Her greatest joy was her family, and she cherished her grandchildren. When she wasn’t working, Lois enjoyed baking cakes, and she shared her talents with her family and friends. She was an excellent cook and will forever remembered for her pot roast and her enchiladas. She was a wonderful wife and mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!
