Doris May (Dodd) McClanahan
Doris grew up as a farm girl and loved spending time with her friends and family. She married Ralph Willard McClanahan in Newcastle, Oklahoma and soon found herself living on a working farm again in Indiana. They made their home in Indiana for many years before moving back to Blanchard for retirement. She was a well-loved woman with many loving traits and skills and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a devoted wife and mother to her family and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Ralph McClanahan; a great-grandson, L.J. McNeal; her twin sister, Delores Tilson; sisters, Lenora Haynes and Betty Schweitzer; and brothers, Homer Ward and Donald Ward.
Doris is survived by: one son, William Ralph McClanahan and wife, Sharon, of Alabama; one daughter, Carol Garrett and husband, Ron, of Mustang; three grandchildren, April McNeal and husband, John, of Alabama, Robert Garrett of Mustang, and Nick Garrett and wife, Talie, of Mustang; six great-grandchildren, Ryan Brown, Riley Garrett, Journey Bass, Bailey Garrett, Kinsley Garrett, and Gracie McNeal; numerous nieces and nephews; and many other relatives and friends.
A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial followed in the Blanchard Cemetery.
