The Newcastle baseball team is now 3-2 on the season after beating the Bridge Creek Bobcats last week, 6-1 and 17-3, in a pair of games. The Racers are off this week for Spring Break – or maybe the rest of the year.
The Newcastle Racers’ baseball team is coming off a superb season in 2019 when they went 24-12 and reached the Class 4A state semifinals. They lost to Harrah, 6-5, at Dale Mitchell Park on the campus of The University of Oklahoma.

Head coach Brett Sanders has led his Lady Racers to an 18-9 record this season and Newcastle is ranked No. 10 in Class 4A by the OSSAA. Newcastle will be facing Anadarko at 3:30 p.m. today (March 12) at Southern Nazarene University in Bethany. Anadarko is the No. 1 team in Class 4A with a stout 26-1 record. The Lady Warriors are the defending Class 4A state champions.
