The Newcastle fast-pitch softball team now has a sparkling 22-5 record following a busy week on the diamond. The Lady Racers won six games in the last week and have now won nine in a row through Monday.
The Newcastle Racers football team barely lost to their cross-county rival Tuttle Tigers, 24-21 last Friday night at Racer Stadium. But, the Racers played so much better than their previous season-opening win. It gave the Racer football squad something to certainly build upon.
Newcastle fast-pitch softball head coach Mike Crossley has seen this before – a mid-season lull where his hitters quit hitting consistently, his fielders make silly errors, and his pitchers don’t make the pitches they usually do.
