This year has unquestionably brought much change to the world in which we live. Not only are Americans struggling to make ends meet here at home due to the worst inflation in 40 years, but also on the other side of the globe, democratic nations are facing unprovoked aggression and attacks.
According to dictionary.com, a paradox is a proposition that seems self-contradictory or absurd, but in reality expresses a possible truth. This is the essence of the Christian life. Christianity is full of paradoxes.
While session may only be four months long, we work yearround researching issues for areas that may need possible legislative attention. This also includes constantly reviewing current laws to ensure they’re still needed and accomplishing their desired goal be it to keep people safe or properly regulate an industry.
With better than a quarter century of my life spent in advocacy, including 12 years as a state Representative, I’ve seen many good and more than several “less desirable” ideas work their way through the system and become public policy. Included in the latter group are those which on the surface might sound like a good idea but end up having consequences which require amending soon after.
