Makenzie Rose, 10, of Newcastle, campaigns along Main Street for Sherrie Conley (R-Newcastle) for State Representative. Her choice was re-elected to serve another term (see related story on page 2). Makenzie’s father, Mickey Rose, said Makenzie loves to help on campaigns, having also done so for State Senator Jessica Garvin (R-Duncan). Mickey said he believes if parents fail to teach their children, they may never learn or participate in the election process. • photo provided
