My thoughts and prayers are with the Oklahomans impacted by the tornadoes that swept through southern Oklahoma. The devastation is appalling, but Oklahomans are resilient. Payton Fremin of Newcastle was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective all-discipline collegiate honor society. Fremin was initiated at Oklahoma City University.

Norman Regional 100 days away from the expansion opening, move
Norman Regional Health System is just 100 days away from the opening of the expansion at the HealthPlex. The expansion includes a new 96-bed critical care tower, Ambulatory Care Center (ACC), a larger emergency department with additional rooms, and concourse-style entry with a new Daily Grind, Gift Shop, chapel, parking garage, and more. The team has been busy preparing to welcome healers and combining the Health-Plex and Porter campuses into one, said Richie Splitt, president and CEO of Norman Regional Health System.

The annual Newcastle Chamber of Commerce State of the City luncheon was Tuesday, April 23 at the Newcastle Library’s Community Center with guest speaker Mayor Karl Nail. Several new attendees were there including candidates running for public office.
