Wheat is Multi Chamber Luncheon speaker

Purcell resident Greg Wheat is the featured speaker for a Multi-Chamber of Commerce Luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 8 at the Newcastle Christian Church.

Wheat, who will speak to chamber members from Blanchard, Tuttle and Newcastle and friends from Purcell, is an author, speaker and active community resident. He is a great advocate of community support and entrepreneurship, said Newcastle CEO/ Executive Director Gayla Riddle.

“We heard him at another chamber event and liked his message,” Riddle said.

Newcastle Chamber of Commerce is the host chamber for the luncheon. The presenting sponsor is Norman Regional Health System, and the title sponsor is the Chickasaw Nation. Lunch is being catered by Luigi’s Bistro for a fee of $20. To attend, anyone can RSVP with their home chamber of commerce. Newcastle residents can go online to newcastleok.org and fill out a form.

Wheat holds a bachelor’s degree in Church and Business and recently retired after more than 30 years of full-time ministry. Now an entrepreneur, he owns Thrive Early Learning Center, Fireworks Outlet OKC, and The Sweatshop Gym and Fitness. He is also a speaker and the author of the new book, From Here to There: Getting from Where You Are to Where You’re Meant to Be.

A community leader, Greg received the Purcell Citizen of the Year Award and continues to serve. He has served as a Heart of Oklahoma Chamber of Commerce member for more than eight years — including roles as board member and president. He was also the president of Leadership MidAmerica, a member of Purcell Rotary Club International, and he currently serves on the Purcell City Council and the Purcell Tourism Board.
