Ryan Ray Morehead

Ryan Ray Morehead, age 23 of Newcastle, entered Heaven’s Gates Tuesday, October 12, 2021. He was born June 2, 1998 in Norman, Oklahoma, the younger of two children of Ray and Sheree Morehead.

Life for Ryan was challenging at times, as a nonambulatory and nonverbal child with special needs. But Ryan was an overcomer, and met every challenge with incredible strength, and with a little a help from his family and friends, he excelled.

He was strong willed, and although labeled nonverbal, he was very vocal and unique in the way he communicated his likes and dislikes. He loved being at home, close to his parents. Ryan was a foodie — a big eater who looked forward to milk shakes and other favorites.

He loved his classmates, who were more like his siblings, and he was blessed with a wonderful school community. Ryan had many who helped him achieve his high school diploma from age three through 21 years old. He was so proud to graduate with the Racer Class of 2020.

Like most kids his age, he was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed NASCAR and cheered hard for his OU Sooners and beloved Racers.

Ryan loved big, and blessed anyone who was fortunate enough to know him, and he filled our hearts with hope and joy. Rest well Ryan. You have finished your course!

He was preceded in death by: his grandparents, Jim and Linda Cook. Ryan is survived by: his parents, Ray and Sheree Morehead; sister, Nicole Real of Lampasas, Texas; nephew Colby Baxter of Weatherford and niece Hannah Real of Newcastle; and many other family and friends who have been there for him.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Friday, October 15, 2021, at First Baptist Church, Newcastle. Burial followed at the Newcastle Memorial Gardens. Online condolences may be sent to www. wilsonlittle.com.
