Pierce ‘Ross’Kiddie

Aug. 27, 1945 - July 13, 2021

Graveside Memorial Services were held in Ft. Sill National Cemetery at 1 p.m. on July 22, 2021, for Pierce Ross Kiddie of Newcastle, Okla.

Ross passed away on July 13, 2021, in his home. He was born August 27, 1945 in Detroit, Michigan, to Pierce Leavitt and Florence (Somes) Laramie.

He married Sheila S. (Shelden) Kiddie on July 1, 1967, in Edmond, Okla. He served in the U.S. Army for more than 28 years and retired as a Sargeant Major. During that time, he spent one year in Vietnam and 16 years in Germany in artillery and finance.

After his military career he graduated from USAO and taught at OCCC in the science department. He volunteered as a leader for the Boy Scouts of America for 30 years. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award and was a vigil member of the Order of the Arrow.

Ross was also a member of the Wandergruppe Walking Club, Veterans of Foreign Wars and Boy Scouts of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include: His wife Sheila Kiddie of the home; sons, Eric Kiddie and wife Lori of Deer Park, Washington; Steven Kiddie and wife Rebecca of Tuttle; daughter, Erin Wilkins and husband Chris of Cochran, Georgia; grandchildren, Natalie and Sean Vineyard, Dakota and Gage Kiddie and Suzy Wilkins, Shane and Ryan Kiddie, Tim and Amy Crismon, and Andy Crismon; great grandchildren, Madi Kiddie, Kira and Phoenix Crismon, Emily and Allison Wilkins; sister, Marion Walsworth and husband Glen and family; and brother, Scott Laramie and family.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that contributions be made to the VFW or Disabled American Veterans.
