Johnny Littlejohn Sr.

Johnny Edward Littlejohn Sr., 82, of Newcastle, passed away Thursday, July 29, 2021, at Norman Regional Hospital. Johnny was born July 23, 1939 in Redden, Oklahoma, to William Pinkney “John” Littlejohn and Teresa Pearl (Snow) Littlejohn.

Johnny was schooled in a one room school house in Redden, before graduating from Stringtown High School. Not long after, he was introduced by a nephew to a young lady named Barbara Ann Branson. It was love at first sight, and after a short courtship, they were married on Aug. 3, 1959, in Pittsburg, Oklahoma.

They lived in Oklahoma City, Del City and Moore, before settling in Newcastle in 1972. Together they raised three children: sons Eddy and Larry and daughter, Brenda. Johnny worked for Lee Way Motor Freight for nearly 30 years, retiring as a City Deliverer. He then went back to school in order to obtain his HVAC certification.

When he wasn’t working, Johnny was probably riding horses, and he never missed an opportunity to spend the day fishing. He was a family man first, and truly never met a stranger. Johnny was a man of great faith and intently studied the Bible. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, great grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by: his wife, Barbara Ann Littlejohn; two great grandsons, Eli and Blake Littlejohn; his parents, William P. and Pearl Littlejohn; and three sisters, Geneva Melton, Jenny Lynn Pool, and JoAnn Caudill.

Johnny is survived by: his sons, Eddy Littlejohn and wife Annette of Tuttle, and Larry Littlejohn of Oklahoma City; daughter, Brenda Wilson and husband David of Centerville, Texas; two brothers, Bobby Littlejohn and wife Effie of College Station, Texas, and James Littlejohn of McAlester; six grandchildren, Michael Littlejohn and wife Diane, Thomas Littlejohn and wife Jessica, Brittany Janik and husband Eddy, Danielle Willig and husband Alex, Catherine Littlejohn, and Caitlin Dressler and husband Wyett; nine great grandchildren, Charlie, Audrey, Henry, Jack, Eleanor, Cade, Luke, Elizabeth and Robert, and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral Services were 11 a.m. Monday, August 2, 2021, at Southgate Baptist Church, 740 S.W. 4th St, Moore, OK, 73160. Interment was at 4 p.m. at the Redden Cemetery. Send online condolences @ www.wilsonlittle.com.
