Jimmy Allen Carson

Jimmy Allen Carson, age 84, of Newcastle, passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Norman Regional Hospital. Jimmy was born January 23, 1936 in Cleveland, OH, the oldest of four children born to James Forrest Carson and Loretta (Hansard) Carson. He was raised primarily in Okla. City, where he attended school. Still in high school, Jimmy joined the United States Navy and served his country proudly during the Korean War. By chance, he met a young lady named Delphia Richards at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church. They fell in love and Jimmy married Delphia on her birthday, August 31, 1960 in the church they met. They first made their home in Okla. City before settling in Newcastle in 1971. Together they raised 3 sons, Larry, Chris and Mike. Jimmy was a hard worker and a great provider, working as a diesel mechanic in the oil field. Jim and Delphia raised and canned vegetable from their garden, and loved spending weekends, camping and fishing at Lake Texoma with their boys. In retirement, they purchase and RV, and traveled many miles. They especially enjoyed spending the winter months in Arizona. He was a wonderful father and grandfather, brother, uncle and a true friend. He will be dearly missed!

He was preceded in death by His wife, Delphia Mae Carson; His parents, James and Loretta Carson and his sister, Cecilia Carson.

He is survived by: His boys, Larry Carson and wife Becky of Edmond,

Chris Carson and wife Beata of Harrah,

Mike Carson and wife Dana of Newcastle;

Two brothers, Steve Carson and wife Gloria of Wilburton, OK and

Phillip Carson of Okla. City;

Six grandchildren, Shawn Carson of OKC,

Kristen Vick and husband Derrick of Houston,

Zach Carson of Edmond,

Jacob Carson and wife Janice of Yukon,

Hayden Carson and Cailey Carson of Newcastle;

6 great grandchildren, Carson, Jacklyn, Emmi, Brennan, Alli-Mae and Addison;

several nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
