Eddie Joe Garrett

Eddie Joe Garrett, 74, of Blanchard, passed away on Saturday, November 13, 2021, in Norman. The son of Eugene Garrett and Oma Faye (Anthony) Garrett, Eddie was born March 30, 1947, in Cogar, Oklahoma.

Eddie married Donna Sue on October 11, 1969. They lived in Newcastle for 30 years before moving to Blanchard.

Eddie was a member of the National Guard. He retired from Tinker Air Force Base after 35 years of service working as a jet mechanic. He attended Glory Promise Center.

Eddie enjoyed mowing and working in his garden, and he took great pride in keeping his yard looking nice. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and he loved his grandchildren dearly.

His grandson, Jayce, who lived with him much of the time, had a special place in his heart and meant the world to him.

He was preceded in death by: his parents and one brother, Dean Garrett.

He is survived by: his wife, Donna Garrett; one daughter, Heather Hopkins and her hus band, Johnny; one son, Scott Garrett; two grandchildren, Jayce Garrett and Ashley Dickey; one great-grandson, Dawson Dickey; one sister, Louise Brown and her husband, James; one brother, Noel Ray Garrett and his wife, Dorothy; and many other loved ones and friends.

A funeral service will be at 1 p.m, Friday, November 19, 2021, at the Eisenhour Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. Burial will follow in the Spring Creek Cemetery near Gracemont.
