Danny was raised in Poteau and graduated from Poteau High School. The night of graduation, he started hitchhiking to Oklahoma City. When he arrived, he obtained a job working at Richardson Parking Garage. From there, he went on to Liberty National Parking Garage and then to Globe Life. He helped provide many jobs to young people who needed work. After the parking garage jobs, Danny began working with Hogue Building Management at City Place, where he worked as the building manager.

Danny married Patricia Ann Roddam on November 4, 1956. He was an active member of the Newcastle Free Will Baptist Church where he was active in the Silver Saints group as well as many other areas. Danny loved the Lord and was a faithful servant for over 60 years.

He was a past president of the McClain/Grady County EMSA Board. He loved old westerns, with Shane being his all time favorite.
