Cloyce Naomi Stanfield

Cloyce Naomi Stanfield, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 14, 2022. The daughter of Herbert Lee and Atcey Isabel (Searcy) Perkins, Naomi was born on October 18, 1939 in Hugo, Oklahoma.

Mom met Warren Earl Stanfield at Calvary Baptist Church then married on August 4, 1962. She graduated from the University of Central Oklahoma in 1962 with her Bachelor’s of Science degree and earned her Master’s of Education degree in 1964. Naomi taught 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades for 10 years at Mid Del School District and 3rd and 4th grades for 15 years at Bridge Creek before retiring. She was a member of the Baptist Student Union organization, Kappa Delta Pi, Kappa Pi, NEA, and OEA.

After Warren’s death, Naomi moved to Waco, Texas, to be with her daughter Rachel. We took care of each other for 16 wonderful years. Together we enjoyed traveling and loved cruising to Europe, South America, and the Panama Canal to name a few. Naomi loved to hold court, often talking of history, family, and current events. She was full of wisdom, experiences, and gladly shared with others.

Naomi and Warren were both members of Woodland Hills Baptist Church where they were instrumental in the building of the church. She taught Sunday School and Vacation Bible School for many years often serving as director. Her faith in God was the focal point of her life, and her church was always important to her.

Naomi was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband, Warren Earl Stanfield; and brother, Ralph Perkins.

Naomi is survived by: her two daughters, Rachel L. Stanfield of Waco, Texas, and Rebecca A. Adams of Oklahoma City; one granddaughter Melody Sullins and husband, Trent Sullins of Edmond, Oklahoma; sister-inlaw, Penny Price Perkins; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
