A meeting of the public and the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority at Newcastle Monday night was, for the most part, informational and communicative for those attending. There also were organizers from the non-profit group Pike Off OTA, of Norman, in attendance voicing their concerns.
There will not be any political races in McClain County for the offices of county commissioner, assessor or treasurer.
A survey which could help define what Newcastle will look like in the future is online, and the City of Newcastle is seeking input from area residents.
A petition started by Newcastle High School student Bradyn Holman has been circulating through the change. org website and seeks support for two NHS teachers whose contracts were not renewed for the 2022-23 school year. By Monday morning, 669 people had signed in support.
