Red, White and Blue Fest 2022 planned for July 2 at Newcastle

If the sign-up for vendors and participants in the City of Newcastle Red, White and Blue Fest 2022 is any indication, the community is in for a large celebration.

The Red, White and Blue Fest 2022 is planned for 6-10 p.m. Saturday, July 2 at Veterans Park, 705 N.W. 10th Street.

Director of Parks and Recreation Kyle Marks said about 30 interested parties had asked to take part by the May 29 registration closing date.

“We’ve had a really good response,” Marks said. “There have been a lot of people sign up who have never signed up before, and there is a good variety of vendors.”

Marks said he will have more specific information in coming weeks, but he noted that there were classic car exhibitors, several food trucks, and vendors — such as crafters and jewelry makers — who have shown interest in being at the community celebration.

Marks said there will also be inflatables for the kids, a petting zoo, a musical performance, and fireworks. The Tyler Lee band, a Funk, Blues and Progressive Rock band from Oklahoma City, is the featured performer. Tyler Lee’s shows are said to be energetic, upbeat and have a strong guitar-focused influence.
