Brush Creek BBQ & Catfish now offering breakfast buffet

If you are from the Newcastle area, you are probably familiar with the barbecue and catfish offered at Brush Creek BBQ & Catfish.

This family operation has successfully been in business here for four years, and now they are announcing a change to their menu.

Just last week the restaurant expanded their menu to include a Breakfast Bar.

Owners Tom and Reta Gilliam will be serving breakfast from 7-11 a.m. Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays.

Hot and delicious ham, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, country potatoes, biscuits and gravy, fruits and cinnamon rolls are now available to tempt Brush Creek patrons.

The Breakfast Bar is $10.50 for adults and children over the age of 10. It is only $6.50 for children ages 10 and under. Tom Gilliam said senior citizens age 65 and older get a 10% discount on the breakfast bar.

Brush Creek BBQ & Catfish is located at 3246 NW 32nd Street #6565, also known as the northwest corner of State Highway 37 and State Highway 76. The restaurant is in the same building as the Tri City Cowboy & Country Church, and is located between the church and the batting cages. It can be accessed through an entrance off SH-76.

There are several employees working at Brush Creek under the guidance of manager Sherri Miller. JoAnn Ray greets customers and runs the cash register, while chef Andra Pickett has the kitchen.

The Breakfast Bar’s offerings join the restaurant’s regular menu featuring barbecue and catfish; however, there are also tacos made from chicken and bacon, pulled pork or catfish, and a salad bar.

Catfish is not the only fish offered, they also have a seafood platter which not only comes with the catfish, but also coconut shrimp and hush puppies.

The barbecue includes chopped and sliced brisket, pulled pork, smoked and jalapeno sausage, ribs, pork loin, and chicken breast. Patrons can order two meats and two sides for $18.95 or three meats and two sides for $1 more. Sides include macaroni and cheese, fried okra, green beans, baked potato, au gratin potatoes, sweet potato fries, and BBQ beans.

If you make it this far and you are still hungry, there’s cheesecake, peach cobbler, and pecan pie for dessert.

Gilliam said lunch items include hamburgers, cheese burgers, brisket, prime rib sandwiches, pork loin sandwichs, and smoked chicken breast sandwiches, along with many of the dinner menu items.

Lunch is served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays, and a fullservice dinner is served from 5-9 p.m. Tuesdays through Saturdays. The Gilliams want to invite everyone to come try out the new Breakfast Bar.
