Ova Robinson

Ova Robinson, age 92 of Newcastle, entered Heaven’s Gates on January 2, 2023.

Ova Evelyn Roberts was born March 12, 1931, in Glendale, Oklahoma, to Charlie and Sallie Mae (Bradford) Roberts. She married young, to Denver Clifton Robinson, on January 3, 1946, and they began a beautiful life together.

They first made their home in Oklahoma City where they welcomed their children, son Gerald and daughter Edith. Ova worked for Oklahoma City Public Schools at both Foster Elementary School and Arthur Elementary School for many years. She genuinely enjoyed her work and just being around the kids.

By 1981, the Robinson family settled in Newcastle. Ova was a faithful member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church and served in many capacities throughout the years. She stayed active in retirement, coordinating activities for the Senior Adults in the church.

When she wasn’t working, she enjoyed quilting and she shared her many talents with her family and friends. She loved tending to her garden, never missing an opportunity to visit someone on the phone, and she truly looked forward to seeing her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and participating in their various activities.

She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and greatgrandmother, sister, aunt and a true friend. She will be dearly missed!

She was preceded in death by: her husband, Denver C. Robinson; her parents, Charlie and Sallie Mae Roberts; and her sister, Elsie Lemmons. Ova is survived by: her son Gerald Robinson and wife Jo Alice of Yukon; her daughter Edith Sanders and husband Dennis of Newcastle; a brother, Ben Lord of Springfield, Missouri; five grandchildren, Shanin Sayers (Don), Jerry Robinson (Ashley), Mark Sanders (April), Tonya Walker (Chad), and Christy Pine (Sean); 15 great-grandchildren, Ashlyn (Garrett), Morgan (Colin), Alexis (Andrew), Courtney (Daytona), Allison (Paxton), Austyn, Blake (Kenzie), Camden, Beau, Brett, Brooks, Tim, Keaton, Reese and Drew; four great-great-grandchildren, Gracie, Taylor, Lettie and Abbott; many nieces, nephews; and a host of other family and friends.

Funeral services were at 2 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024, at Newcastle First Baptist Church. Burial followed at the Blanchard Cemetery. www.wilsonlittle. com.
