The Tri-City Cruisers saw a big turnout of participants and car enthusiasts for their 2012 car show this past weekend in the old Tri-City shopping center parking lot. All proceeds from the event will benefit the group’s Christmas program to help local needy families. This Saturday, the car club and Sonic in Tri-City will have a cruise-in beginning at 6 p.m. Other dates set are June 2, July 7, Aug. 1, Sept. 1 and Oct. 6. |

City asks for DEQ's help in water upgrades
 | The City of Newcastle may not have to foot the whole bill for several water improvements if their $440,000 funding request to the Oklahoma Department of Environment Quality is approved.
On April 25, the city submitted a request to be placed on the priority list for funding from the Green Project Reserve Fund. If approved, the city would not have to pay for the rehabilitation of two water towers - one of which is chipping paint on the in Wednesday, May 02, 2012 |
