Baylor Bonham may only be 11 years old, but he already knows what it feels like to be king of the show.
Last week, Bonham and his family traveled to Denver, Colo., to compete in the National Western Stock Show and ended up bringing home the top prize of Grand Champion Steer.
The win qualified the Newcastle fifth grader for the premium sale where his 18-month-old and 1,315 pound market steer named "Stripe" drew an astonishing $106,000.
Bonham and his four-legged friend beat out 100 others for the Grand Champion title and raked in one of the largest bids the premium sale has seen in recent years and $4,000 shy of the all-time record, mom Stacey Bonham said. Wednesday, January 25, 2012 |
