It has often been asked, “What is the most important event in the life of Jesus?” Some argue it is the virgin birth, others His sinless life, some say the crucifixion, and many point to the resurrection. Honestly, each one of those events are crucial. If you were to remove any one of them, the validity of Christianity crumbles.
One of the issues I’m going to continue working on is period poverty in our state. I know this is an uncomfortable topic, but it’s one that not only impacts women and families financially, but it’s a major health concern for low-income and homeless women. Feminine hygiene products are a monthly necessity and an expensive one, and given that half of Oklahoma’s population is female, this is an issue that needs to be addressed.
For several months, Americans have grown increasingly nervous that our nation’s economy was heading toward recession. Unfortunately, those fears became a reality last week when the Bureau of Economic Analysis reported that Gross Domestic Product (GDP) declined for a second consecutive quarter, which constitutes an economic recession.
How do you know if someone truly loves you? Is it by what they say, or what they do? What a person says is important, but what they do is even more important. If their actions do not back up their words, then their words become meaningless. The age-old expression is true, “Actions speak louder than words.” Our actions validate our words, and provide evidence that we really do mean what we say.
There are some days when work is much better than others. I often tell young Oklahomans that it is important to find a career, not a job, when it comes to selecting employment, though it might take some time to get to that point.
