Summer opportunities

SETTING THE PACE / Living life with an eternal perspective

As a pastor, I deal with all kinds of different situations. Some things I encounter are very difficult, but some things are incredibly rewarding. The summer is often a season where I get to see some of those rewarding things.

Statistics vary, but most reports indicate that if a person has not begun following Jesus Christ by the time they  graduate  from  high  school, the odds are very slim that they ever will. This is one of the reasons we take children's and youth ministry so  seriously  at FBC Newcastle. All year long we attempt to offer programs and activities that help children and youth encounter God and grow closer to Him. In the summer, those opportunities are at an  all-time  high.

This summer is starting off with a bang as 32 of our high school students and adults are heading to Costa Rica this Saturday for a mission trip. This will be a life-changing experience for all of them. Up next is Vacation Bible School on June 3-7 for our kindergarten-6th graders. We will have 650 children-adults attending this incredible  week. Get your child signed up today at fbcnewcastle.com/events !

Camps are next. Fifty nine of our seventh through twelfth grade leadership students will be heading to Super Summer at Oklahoma Baptist University. Then, on June 10-13, 100 of our children (grades third - sixth and adults are headed to Kids Kamp in Tulakogee, Oklahoma. You can still get your kids signed up to attend this amazing camp. Following that, we will have two weeks of youth camp at Falls Creek in Davis, Oklahoma. Our high schoolers (grades nine - twelfgt 10(th-12th) are going June 24-28 and our middle schoolers (grades 6th-8th) are going July 8-12. We will take around 150 each week. Get your youth signed up today!

We are also having two family/community nights this summer. On Friday, June 21st, we will be having a community movie night at Veteran’s Park with food trucks, inflatable games, and a movie. Join us for this event from 8pm-10:30pm! Then, on Wednesday, July 17, we will be having a family game night at FBC Newcastle. We will have a cookout, along with outdoor games for people of all ages! Join us at 6:30pm for all the fun!

As you can tell, it will be an

extremely full summer. We

also have other mission trips

happening, and a whole host

of regular activities each and

every week. We would love for

you and your family to be part

of the exciting things happening at FBC Newcastle! Get all

the details at fbcnewcastle.

com ! See you next week!
