Senior moments from the Newcastle Senior Center
DOROTHY’S DABLINGS/ Senior Citizen happenings
Hello Seniors! After the sudden, almost violent, storm this last Sunday, it turned out to be a beautiful afternoon. All the rain the we have had theses past few months has created some beautiful flowers and shrubs. But be sure to watch out for mosquitos and empty all those pots that hold water.
I spent most of last week with my sister and her husband in Amarillo, so I’m a bit out of the loop when it comes to any news. If there were any visitors or birthdays I will get them in next week. There will be Bingo on Tuesday, June 25th.
The girls, Esme and Jessica, are doing a fine job of making interesting and delicious meals for us. Lunch is served Monday thru Friday, 11:30 a.m. To 12:30 p.m., to seniors 55 or older.
Please stay aware of the weather and remember there is a large safe room by the fire and police stations. It is open to the public but there are rules to follow. Because of the large number of persons in Newcastle, dogs or other pets are not allowed in anymore. There is simply not enough room. This little city is really growing. It is a wonderful place to live.
Our police department and fire department are very diligent in keeping the citizens here safe. Thanks to all of you.
As we get older our thinking changes and we tend to want to fix situations. This verse, for me, written by Ezra, has always held great wisdom and a promise of better things to come.
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their sinful ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land”.
