#butGod movement

Our Family Was Recently Introduced To A Film Director, Who Also Suffered A Brain Injury Due To Multiple Strokes A Few Years Ago. This Man Wants To Help Us Get Caleb’s Story To The World.

SETTING THE PACE / Living life with an eternal perspective

As many of you know, on December 19, 2017, my two oldest sons, Caleb and Clayton, were on their way to a University of Oklahoma basketball game. It was a week before Christmas when rain covered the road causing many accidents, and Caleb’s vehicle began to hydroplane placing my boys into a deadly spin. When the truck finally came to a stop in the middle of the interstate, an eighteen-wheeler was unable to keep from broad-siding the driver’s side, where Caleb Freeman

was instantly impacted and

Clayton, his younger brother,

was also wounded.

Traffic came to an abrupt

stand-still on both sides of

the busy highway as people

rushed to my boys trapped inside. An MMA fighter called

me on Caleb’s cell phone, as

another woman began praying

over him.  In order to stop the

bleeding, she tightly held Caleb’s head until medical help arrived. Clayton was deeply bruised and wounded as the emergency vehicles rushed both boys to the hospital.

Just five years earlier, both of our sons had spoken at the funeral of their youngest brother, Trey Freeman. He was just seven-years old when he lost his battle with leukemia.  On the night of December 19, our family was staring directly into the face of another unspeakable tragedy.

On this fateful day, Caleb’s life hung in the balance with less than a 10% chance of survival. Word spread immediately on television networks and on social media as people prayed and God began to intervene.  My wife and I had faced the worst kind of loss in losing a child previously, and we were now thrust into an enduring struggle for life once again with our oldest son.  Clayton was released, but Caleb suffered a brain injury of the worst possible kind, a diffuse axonal grade three injury.

#butGod › hit social media about the story of Caleb who was literally fighting for his life. Our family shared if it were not for God, there would be no hope. Pray4Caleb messages also went viral and many continued to pray for a miracle as a massive prayer movement began.  Over the last ten months, this epic journey of miracles and healing has been woven like a tapestry into our lives. As our family nears the one-year anniversary of the accident, prayers are still being offered for Caleb to speak clearly, to walk unencumbered and yes, even with a desire to run.  Caleb is a young and strong athlete, and is fighting with everything he has, every single day, for this dream to come true.  We would love for you to get involved.
