Patricia Lou Burchel

Patricia Lou Burchel, 80, loving mother of two and adoring wife to Doy Burchel, passed from this earth after a courageous battle with Parkinson’s on February 13, 2023.

Pat was born April 17, 1942, in Broken Arrow and grew up in Tulsa with her two sisters, Carlolyn Sue and Beverly.

Pat went to college at Oklahoma Christian College in Edmond where she met the love of her life, Doy Burchel. They married August 1, 1964, and were married 58 wonderful years. She and Doy had two sons, Dan and Darin.

Pat was a school teacher where she taught in Oklahoma City and Newcastle. Pat taught many different age groups in order to navigate around each of her sons, because she never wanted to be their school teacher.

Pat was an active member of the Church of Christ all her life. She taught many classes at Newcastle New Heights and Southwest Church of Christ.

Pat loved to read, travel with her friends, and play golf.

She will be missed by all who love her.

She is survived by: her husband Doy of Enid; two sons, Dan and his wife Lisa of Enid, and Darin and his wife Robin of Enid; five wonderful grandchildren — Blake and wife Taylor, Brock, Mollie, Lauren, and Taylor.

Pat’s new love was her first great-granddaughter, Presley Kate, who brightened her last year of life.

A private service is planned and will be held for the immediate family only.
