Obituaries Cynthia Lou Ratley

Cynthia “Cindy” Ratley, 68, went to her heavenly home on October 11, 2018 after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

Cindy was born to Gilbert and Eva Mooney in Lawton, OK on May 11, 1950. She attended Newcastle High School where she loved to play the piano and sing in school musicals. Upon graduation, she married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy H. Copeland on August 26, 1966. She raised three children while serving and traveling around the world with Jimmy as a military wife in the Air Force for 22 years. She attended LA Tech and worked as a computer programmer. Life brings changes and her marriage with Jimmy subsequently ended. Cindy married Jack L. Ratley, DDS on July 6, 1990 and they lived in Shreveport, Louisiana. She loved to garden, attend her church, Ford Park Baptist, sing in the church choir and attend church gatherings.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jack L. Ratley, DDS and her parents, Bruce and Eva Mooney and grandson, Christopher Ratley.

She is survived by her children, Trelynda Rogers, husband, Doug; Tricia Ratley, husband, Mark; Jimmy Copeland, Jr., wife Kaye; step-son, Stephen Ratley, wife Charlotte; step-daughter Brandi Ratley; sister Nanette Gibbs; brother Greg Mooney, wife Cindy; 12 grandchildren, 9-1/2 great grandchildren and her two yorkie fur babies, Cali and Cody.

Cindy had a deep trusting relationship with Jesus and we as her family and friends are reminded of the Word: Psalms 116:15; “Precious in the sight of The Lord, is the death of one of His faithful servants.”
