Kris Anna McKay

Kris Anna McKay age 52 of Newcastle, passed away Thursday, Oct. 17, 2019 after an extended battle with Cancer. She was born October 4, 1967 in Norman, Oklahoma. She was the oldest of two daughters born to Jody Paul Deaville and Nathenia “Tena” Lou (Fisher). Kris grew up in Newcastle and graduated from Newcastle High School with the class of 1985. While in high school she was a member of the Newcastle High School Band where she was the Drum Major. After high school she attended Oklahoma City Community College and received her associate’s degree in business. Kris later married the love of her life, Russell Don McKay on October 8, 1993 in Oklahoma City. Together they raised two daughters, Falon and Anna and made their home in Newcastle. Kris worked most of her life as an office and administrative assistant. She first worked for AFS, American Floral Services, then several years at Deaconess Hospital and lastly for the University of Oklahoma. For the past several years she has been unable to work because of her failing health. However she continued being a wife, mother and homemaker. Kris’s loved her community and her alma mater. She was proud supporter and charter member of the Newcastle Education Foundation. She grew up riding horses, going to rodeos and later enjoyed riding motorcycles. She loved attending O.U. Football games, camping and going to the lake. Her favorite TV show was the Food Network Channel.

She was preceded in death by:

Grandparents, Jody and Cynthia Deaville of Newcastle. Mother, Tena Everhart in 2015. Nephew, Chris McKay.

She is survived by:

Husband, Russ McKay of the home, Two daughters, Falon and Anna McKay of the home, Father and step-mother, Jody and Toni Deaville of Newcastle, Sister, Jodi Hood and husband Ken of Broken Arrow, Father and Mother-in-law, Don and Valera McKay of Blanchard, Two sisters-in-law, Vanessa McKay of Blanchard, Shelly Murdock and husband Mark of Newcastle, Two nieces, Kasey Turner and husband Jackson of Washington State, Shandelle McKay of Blanchard, Two nephews, Alex Hood of Broken Arrow, and Sebastian Rojas of Norman. Two aunts, LaVonia Tracy of Norman, Connie Riley and husband Bob of Okemah, One uncle, Jimmy Fisher and wife Carolyn of Norman. Also several cousins and a host of friends

Viewing and Visitation will be held on Sunday, Oct. 20, from 1-5 pm. also on Monday Oct 21, from 9:00 am til 8 pm at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri City Ave. Newcastle, OK. A celebration of life service will be held on Sunday, Oct. 27th at 2:00 pm in the Newcastle High School Auditorium. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Newcastle Education Foundation, www.newcastleeducationfoundation.com.
