Juanita Wynne

Juanita Wynne age 101, of Newcastle, went home to be with her Lord on Friday, December 13, 2019. Juanita was born August 19, 1918, in Newcastle and lived all of her life in Newcastle except for the past two years. She was the middle child born to John Elmer Williams and Nora Frances (Bond) Williams. Juanita grew up a farm girl and learned how to work hard in the cotton fields when she was young. She attended the Newcastle schools and married the love of her life at the age of 16 years. On March 16, 1935, she married Charles Floyd Wynne and together they raised four sons, Denny, Donnie, Ira and Lee. She and Floyd also taught their sons the value of hard work and raised them up on the farm. Juanita worked most of her life as a homemaker, as a farmer’s wife and as a mother. After her sons were raised she worked over 20 years as a secretary at Norman Plumbing Supply. Juanita was a faithful Christian and a lifelong member of the Newcastle First Baptist Church. For many years she taught Sunday School, GA’s and helped with Vacation Bible School. Throughout her life she was active in the Newcastle community and with the Newcastle Schools. She assisted many students in programs such as, 4-H, FFA and Home Economics. Juanita was a wonderful cook and seamstress and a member of the Newcastle Home Extension Club. She entered her canning and sewing in the local county fairs and hand made all of her children and grandchildren quilts. After retiring, she and Floyd enjoyed traveling on day trips and spending time together. She will be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She was a loving great and great-great-grandmother. She was a dear friend to all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by:

Parents, Munzy and Poppy Williams, Husband of 74 years, Floyd Wynne in 2009, One brother, Murel Williams, One sister, Willie Mae Mitchusson, Two great grandchildren, Andrew and Sarah, Her daughter-in-law,Darline Wynne in 2018.

She is survived by:

Four sons, Denny Wynne and wife Debra of Grand Junction, CO, Donnie Wynne of Newcastle, Ira Wynne of Newcastle, Lee Wynne and wife CaMary of Grand Junction, CO. Eight grandchildren, Steve Wynne and wife Teresa of Grand Junction, CO, Bryan Wynne and wife Teresa of Norman, Kevin Wynne of Norman, Johnny Wynne and wife Karen of Newcastle, Darla Allen and husband Stan of Newcastle, James Wynne and wife Wendy of Newcastle, Russell Wynne and Lori of Cummings, GA, Thea Boden and husband John of Orem, Utah. 17 great grandchildren, 20 great great grandchildren, Many nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Newcastle. Visitation with family was held on Tuesday, from 6-8pm at Wilson-Little Funeral Home, 3132 Tri City Ave, Newcastle. Burial will be at the Blanchard Cemetery.
