Hillard “Larry” Bowden III

Hillard “Larry” Bowden III fell asleep in death suddenly on Thursday, November 26 at home in Newcastle, OK at the age of 59. Larry was born January 27, 1961 in San Francisco, California to Mertis and Hillard Bowden Jr. He graduated from Las Vegas Public School District. In 2001 he married Paulla Williams. After moving to Oklahoma, Larry began working for Newcastle Public Schools as a bus driver and custodian, where he continued his career for nearly 20 years. He was loved by all his NPS family. His children remember his as a gentle kind and quiet father who encouraged them to pursue their goals.

Larry was a kind, generous and patient individual who loved his family and was passionate about helping others. He was an active and dedicated member of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah’s witnesses and thoroughly enjoyed his bible study and service there.

Larry is survived by: his wife Paulla Bowden; stepchildren Dominiq Tisdale and Tearssa Roddy: grandchildren Mia Tisdale, Jaydin Roddy, and Carter Roddy of Oklahoma; siblings Jody Bowden and Debra Bowden of Las Vegas Nevada; four aunts and three uncles.

Larry is preceded in death by: grandparents Hillard Bowden Sr. and Nellie Bowden of Boliver, Tennessee; father, Hillard Bowden Jr.; stepmother Annie Bowden.

Due to the CDC guidelines there will not be a viewing, a virtual service will be held at a date yet to be determined.
