Glenna Ruth Stark

The family of Glenna Ruth (Perkins) Stark, 89, of Newcastle, Oklahoma, is saddened to announce her passing on Tuesday, December 20, 2022.

The first-born child of Clifford Ira Perkins and Velma Luwene (Craven) Perkins, she was born on May 27, 1933, in Las Animas, Colorado.

Growing up, her family moved around quite a bit due to her father being a ranch hand/ cowboy. Sometimes they would even move multiple times in a year. Glenna graduated from Kenton High School in 1951 where she met Gail Rolland ‘Pistol’ Freeman. They were married on May 21, 1951, and were wed for 24 years. She raised three children from this marriage.

At the age of 45 she married Freddie Campbell in Oklahoma City, and they were married for nine years. She then married Earl Stark in 1988.

Glenna lived the last 50 years of her life in Oklahoma City and recently relocated to Newcastle for the last six months. Glenna enjoyed cooking and baking. Her family thought of her as the BEST pie maker in the world. In her day she loved country music and dancing, she was a homemaker and sewed many of her kids’ clothes. She was always standing in the shadows to let others shine. She never complained about the hand that was dealt to her.

In her later years she absolutely loved shopping, decorating her house, and spending memorable times with her great-granddaughter, who lovingly referred to her as Gigi. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, who cherished all of her family.

Glenna will be in our hearts forever and missed by all who knew her kind and caring spirit.

She was preceded in death by: her parents, and her husband Earl Stark.

Glenna is survived by: her brothers, William “Bill” (Mary Ellen) Perkins of Colorado and James (Connie) Perkins of California; sons Rex (Crystal) Freeman of Winder, Georgia, and Tim (Ramona) Freeman of Tuscon, Arizona; daughter, Lynn (Eddie) Carlile of Newcastle; stepson, Bob Stark; grandchildren, Misty (Jason) Morvay, Eric Freeman, Christopher Freeman, Nicole Freeman, Austin (Tabetha) Freeman; three great-grandchildren, Jaycie Rae Morvay, Connor Freeman, and Silas Freeman; and many more loving family members and friends.
