Despite the pandemic threatening to spoil Halloween, Newcastle families found a way to celebrate the “mask optional” holiday. From local church events to the chamber’s Haunt the Park event, ghosts and goblins alike were seen enjoying the various activites.

The obstacles to overcome just keep mounting up for Newcastle educators. In addition to dealing with the pandemic and adapting to new methods of teaching, district staff members also had to put their safety training to good use on Monday, when all four campuses were placed on lockdown after a threat was received.
Newcastle Public Schools will be participating in the Summer Food Service Program. Meals will be provided to the children without charge and are the same for all children regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability, and there will no discrimination in the course of the meal service.
