Senator Jessica Garvin (RDuncan) has been selected by the Hunt Institute to be a Hunt-Kean Leadership Fellow. The Duncan Republican was one of 31 senior-level political leaders from around the nation chosen to participate in the prestigious program and learn effective education policies from other states and share about Oklahoma’s educational outcomes and strategies.
Seven CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteers were sworn into office to serve this area. They were described as concerned citizens who are trained to be the eyes and ears of the juvenile court judge. The new CASA volunteers are: Kevi Paulk, Max Bowman, Susan Allgood, Bailey Filmore, Josie John, Rhonda King, and Ashley Proctor.
Getting roasted turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, green bean casserole and pie on the table this Thanksgiving is going to cost consumers more than it did in 2021.
