Newcastle’s Annual City-Wide Garage Sale set for April 24-26
One of the most anticipated events in Newcastle will be bringing visitors by the droves.
The Annual City-Wide Garage Sale will take place Thursday through Saturday April 24-26. This is an event that brings in shoppers from all over the metro not just from the Tri-City area. It is a time for community members to clear out their unwanted clutter
and make a bit of cash in the process.
StartingApril 1, the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce will begin collecting addresses for any person, business or organization that is planning to have a garage sale.
During this event, the city will waive the permit fee required to hold a sale in city limits.
Once again The Newcastle Pacer will publish its annual City-Wide Garage Sale pullout section for this special event.
This section contains addresses of all registered sales, as well as a map of the city. The cost to have a sale included is free, however, The Pacer is offering a special “star” that is a more prominent way to bring attention to your sale.
“For the first time ever we are offering a special purchase price for the stars. During the first two weeks of April stars will only cost $8,” Newcastle Pacer Publisher Clarence B. Wright said.
“From April 1-10 stars will be sold at this discounted price. You can purchase a star to be placed near your address on the map. This fee also allows you to list items that you have for sale, up to 40 words. Here, you can advertise any items for sale that you want baragianseekers to know about,” Wright said.
The special price is only until April 10. After that the price goes up to $10 per star, and the last day to purchase stars is April 17.
The special section will hit the newsstands Wednesday, April 22 and delivered to subscribers Thursday, April 23. Copies can also be purchased The Newcastle Pacer located at 120 NE 2nd Street, next to City Hall.
