Library's Friday afternoon series to resume

The Newcastle Public Library again will host a series of Friday afternoon events for school-age students on days school is out.

Each program begins at 2 p.m., and the September schedule includes:

Sept. 14 – STEAM It Friday, featuring activities that promote science, technology, engineering, the arts and mathematics.

Sept. 21 – Book-N-Cook, featuring the book “Salsa” by Jorge Arguenta and then a lesson in salsa making using the ingredients mentioned in the book.

Sept. 28 – Art for School Age Children, with this month’s featured book being “The Secret World of Walter Anderson” by Hester Bass.

Supplies for activities are provided thanks to the help of the Friends of the Newcastle Library.

Registration is required in advance to attend.
