Newcastle Senior raising funds for mission trip

Newcastle senior Abby Coyne and her family are hosting a church-wide garage sale this weekend to raise money for her to go on a mission trip to the Dominican Republic next summer. The sale is Friday and Saturday, Sept. 18th -19th, from 8:00 a.m-5:00 p.m. The sale will be in the van barn of Snow Hill Baptist Church at 11 S. Morgan Rd. Tuttle, OK. It is jam packed with home goods, Fall and Christmas decorations, furniture, Coke items, a few tools, a couple of bikes, and much more. Go check out all the good merchandise and support one of our local youth reach her goal.

We are currently going through a study of the Beatitudes on Wednesday nights at First Baptist Church in Newcastle. When Jesus preached His first public sermon in Matthew chapter three, which is historically called the Sermon on the Mount, He began with the beatitudes. He laid out eight keys to entry into, and life in, God’s Kingdom, which is what the beatitudes truly are. As someone has aptly said, “The beatitudes are the attitudes that ought to be in God’s people. In a world that is in total chaos, the beatitudes are needed now more than ever in God’s people. As Christians live these truths, they have the potential to make a tremendous impact on the world around them.
