School is out for the summer, and that means vacation bible school is not far behind.
School employees with 10 years of service to the Newcastle Public Schools district were recognized. They are: Kelly Dillman, Dusty Livingston, Kevin Sheets, Glenda Jefferson, Stacy Wright, Malcom Myers, and Jesus Garcia (not pictured).
Educators recognized by their peers for Above and Beyond the Call of Duty (ABCD) are: Gracie Lazano, Newcastle High School; Sarah Wilson, Newcastle Middle School; Cindy Trent, Newcastle Elementary School; and Dakota Lain, Newcastle Early Childhood Center.
Mariah Stephens received a I, or superior, at the recently held solo and ensemble contest, while both Emma Milligan and Lynlee Tortolin earned a II, or excellent rating.
Newcastle is working towards keeping lifestyles healthy and several city entities were recognized for their efforts.
