Several Newcastle Chamber of Commerce activities are coming up, and one was rescheduled because of last week’s icy weather.
Newcastle history was made as Dr. Genevieve Craig was named Band Director of the Year for the Southwestern Oklahoma Band Directors Association (SWOBDA). The award has been given out each year by SWOBDA since 1981, and Craig is the first director from Newcastle to be selected.

The Mid-America Technology Center Practical Nursing PN class were honored to take part in the memorial service for long-time registered nurse Lalia Jolly. Lalia was steadfast in her service of the MATC district for many years.
