Senior moments from the Newcastle Senior Center
DOROTHY’S DABLINGS/ Senior Citizen happenings
Hello Newcastle Seniors! Have we had enough rain for a few days? It seems to be feast or famine in the rain department. Maybe we should just say thank you for the rain and let it be. We will be wishing for it as the summer progresses.
Attendance has been slowly progressing at the center. I’m sure it is because the weather is getting warmer. Our meals are exceptionally tasty and well prepared. We welcome any, and all seniors to join us on a daily basis from 11:30 a.m. To 12:30 p.m., Monday thru Friday.
Come and visit with us. We really like meeting new people. Our meals are healthy and plentiful. We have homemade dessert every day, fruits and melons (when available) vegetables, meat, bread and lots of coffee and iced tea. You can’t beat the food or the price.
We have been pleased to have a young man, Anthony Eyman, volunteering the past few days. He is the son of our cook, Jessica Eyman. We appreciate all the young people who help us out whenever they have time. They are such a blessing with their speed and endurance and especially with their desire to help others.
Congratulations go to Don and Linda Antrim for being our Seniors of the Month for May. Everyone who receives the honor is more than welcome to stop by the Pacer office and interview with Todd. It has been awhile since they have had the chance to do one. Everyone seems to be shy or unwanting of the recognition. Just a thought.
Don’t forget about the BINGO and BUNCO games each month. BUNCO is the first Thursday and BINGO is the second and fourth Tuesday. These games begin right after lunch, about 12:45 p.m., and are $3 each. There will be several chances to win prizes. All seniors are invited, it is good fun and good fellowship with other seniors.
Have a good week and I will see you all next week.
