If you are new to Newcastle or you just want to be more active and knowledgeable about your community, don’t forget that from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday is the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce Meet the Community at Newcastle Christian Church, 2200 N. Main Street. “At Meet the Community, you will see many of the businesses, civic leaders, and non-profits that call Newcastle home, and they will want to get to know you,” a chamber spokesperson said. “You will see and meet many of this town’s great people.

Last week, the House successfully voted to override the governor’s veto of SB 26 on extending the tribal tobacco compact for one year. This will allow the state and tribes additional time to work out a good faith agreement that benefits all Oklahomans.
