Watson is Newcastle branch mgr.
Kendall Watson, MLIS, came to Newcastle in September and October last year to fill in as interim branch manager at the Newcastle Public Library, an affiliate of Pioneer Library System. He returned April 1 this year to officially assume the branch manager position.

Water bill to increase with new meter fee
Rates are increasing on your monthly water bill. City Council members approved a meter fee for the replacement and maintenance of water meters in Newcastle.

Memorial Day event May 29
Newcastle’s annual Memorial Day remembrance is at 11:30 a.m. Monday, May 29 at Newcastle Memorial Gardens, 2345 S. Main Street. The event will be led by the Tony K. Burris VFW Post 368 and American Legion. Mayor Karl Nail will provide a short speech.

Protests filed with OCC over Commercial Disposal Well
A request to the City of Newcastle for a Use Permitted on Review on a permit for a commercial disposal well for Charter Oak Production Company may have been premature. The commercial disposal well is before the Oklahoma Corporation Commission currently and several individuals including the Chickasaw Nation have filed protests.
