With area residents going to the polls on Tuesday to exercise their part in representative government, the Newcastle Pacer has gathered reports from two of Oklahoma’s nonprofit news sources about each race.

Oklahoma Watch and Oklahoma Voice have had their reporters interviewing and researching the candidates. The stories inside this issue are directly from those news organizations and reprinted with their approval.

Also in this issue, sample ballots were provided by the McClain County Election Board, and show exactly how area voters’ ballots appear. We chose to publish them last week, and again this week so they can reach as many eyes as possible.

Area polling places will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday. If you need more information on casting your vote, locations, or other election-related activity, you can contact the McClain County Election Board in Purcell at 405-527-3121.

Early voting began yesterday (Wednesday) and continues through Saturday.

Early voting can be done either at the McClain County Community Center, located at 1721 Hardcastle Blvd., Purcell, or at the new location at the Historic City Hall, west of the flagpole in Blanchard.

Early voting hours are 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. today and tomorrow, and from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday at both locations.
