The stage is set, registration has passed. School and community floats that will be in tomorrow’s (Friday’s) Newcastle High School Homecoming Parade had to be registered by October 9 with the City.
The parade begins at 10 a.m. at the NHS parking lot off of Main Street. The route (map on page 2) enters Main Street at the high school exit across from the Newcastle Fair Barn, continuing north until reaching 10th Street, where it continues on 10th Street to the west until floats and participants reach Veterans Park and the west side of Newcastle Library. The parade route concludes there. Spectators can line up on both sides of the road to watch the parade.
The four high school classes have their own float themes. The seniors have chosen “Toy Story,” while the juniors have “Monsters Inc.” The sophomores are portraying “Inside Out,” and the freshmen are decorating to “Finding Nemo.”
Friday night’s football game begins at 7 p.m. but the Homecoming Coronation is before the game at 6:35 p.m. The Racers play host to the Southeast High School Spartans.
