Pioneer Library System invites community members to attend a series of free Resource Fairs this fall designed to connect individuals and families with local organizations, support services and opportunities for assistance throughout Cleveland, Mc-Clain and Pottawatomie counties.
The Resource Fairs are part of Spark a Change 2026, a community initiative that uses the power of stories to inspire understanding, encourage action and strengthen community connections. This year’s initiative centers on Lara Love Hardin’s The Many Lives of Mama Love and explores themes of resilience, recovery, family and reentry.
Attendees will have the opportunity to visit with organizations that provide services related to employment, education, housing, healthcare, recovery support, family services, legal assistance and other community needs. The events are designed to help residents learn about available resources, build connections and access support in a welcoming environment.
Community members can instantly borrow The Many Lives of Mama Love through the PLS Connect app and access the 2026 Children of Incarcerated Parents Toolkit developed by the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth as part of the initiative.
Caregivers, educators, social workers, childcare providers and others who support children impacted by a loved one’s involvement in the criminal justice system can access a free toolkit for practical resources, guidance and community support. Visit Oklahoma. gov and search for the Oklahoma Commission on Children and Youth.
“One of the goals of Spark a Change is to move beyond conversation and create meaningful connections between people and resources,” said Kelly Sitzman, Pioneer Library System director of communications and employee development. “These Resource Fairs bring together organizations that are making a difference in our communities and help ensure individuals and families know where to turn when they need support.”
Some Resource Fair dates have already been held, but still include one in Purcell from 3 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, at Landmark Church, 701 S. Green Ave.
A Community Job Fair will take place from noon to 3 p.m. Oct. 14 at The Well in Norman, connecting attendees with local employers and workforce resources.
The fairs complement a variety of Spark a Change programs taking place throughout the fall, including book discussions and author visits featuring Lara Love Hardin in November.
Spark a Change reflects Pioneer Library System’s belief that reading can inspire new perspectives, strengthen communities and create opportunities for positive change. For information, visit pioneerlibrarysystem.org and search “calendar.”
