Super Regionals underway at Tuttle to see who goes to the State Tournament
Racer Fastpitch looks to be peaking at the right time in their 2026-27 season. They won Regionals going 3-0. They had one game against Ardmore, and then two games against Cache. The title sends the Racers (27-12, ranked #11) next to the Super Regionals at Tuttle, starting Wednesday and continuing Thursday if needed, where they will play the best of three games to see who moves on to the State Tournament.
Head Coach Mike Crossley, who recently picked up his 1,200th win and is Oklahoma’s winningest fastpitch coach, said the Racers did a good job at Regionals, and have a lot of young players who are contributing.
The Racers opened Regional competition with a big win against Ardmore.
He said, “We were the number one seed in Regionals and Ardmore was number four. We played well, and the game got out of hand in a hurry.”
Freshman Rylee Fixico started for the Racers, pitching the first two inings, before junior pitcher Alexis Donahue stepped in, and then freshman Kaelyn Patterson came in to finish the game. Newcastle had 14 hits for the win. Against Cache, the Racers won 3-1.
“They are a good ball club but we played really well,” Crossley said.
Pitching for Newcastle was junior Addie Loman, who Crossley said did a great job.
He said, “She is an outstanding pitcher for us.” In the finals, Loman threw again for the Racers. Freshman Jules Dobelbower hit a three-run homer for Newcastle.
The Racers finished second in the Class 4A District behind Tuttle. The Lady Tigers beat Bethany and Pauls Valley for their Regional title. They are now 23-12 overall and ranked #6.
