Dr. Walker says the new state law will cost the district at least $1 million
A new state law adding days to the school calendar will cost the school district “at least $1 million.” It also is bringing up a discussion about going back to five-day per-week school.
A Calendar Committee has been formed by Newcastle Public Schools to address the issues in response to HB3151, which requires students to attend school for 173 days beginning next school year.
