OICA working with human services to improve response to Oklahomans in need

Over the past several weeks, many Oklahomans have contacted the Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) regarding suspension or reduction of some benefits of the social safety net.

Long wait times on help lines, confusion regarding needed forms for verification, and lack of access to internet have impacted Oklahomans, including families with young children. Oklahoma has quite often fallen into the “Top 10” of states with grandparents raising their grandchildren, placing an even greater strain on families.
