Interested organizations can register online
Newcastle Parks & Recreation has been working on its annual Halloween celebration. They invite families to Veterans Park for Haunt the Park 2026: “The Gathering of Ghosts” from 4-7 p.m. on Saturday, October 24.
Parks Director Kyle Marks said, “Haunt the Park brings local businesses, organizations, churches, community groups, and families together for an evening of Halloween fun in the park. Families can make their way through the event enjoying trick-or-treating, games, activities, and other Halloween experiences provided throughout Veterans Park.”
Marks said admission to Haunt the Park is free.
“A major part of the event is the community organizations that host game and Trick-or-Treat BOO-ths,” Marks said. “Newcastle Parks & Recreation is currently accepting registrations from businesses, churches, organizations, teams, and community groups interested in participating.”
BOO-th hosts are encouraged to get creative. Participants can hand out candy, provide a game or activity, decorate their space, or create another family-friendly experience for attendees. Organizations interested in hosting a BOO-th can register online: Additional event information will be available through Newcastle Parks & Recreation and the Newcastle Pacer as Haunt the Park approaches.
