McClain County 4-H is looking for caring adults who want to make a difference in the lives of local youth. Volunteer leaders are currently needed to support 4-H clubs in the Dibble, Purcell, Washington, and Wayne communities.
4-H is a youth development program that helps young people build confidence, leadership skills, citizenship, and lifelong learning through hands-on experiences. Members explore interests ranging from agriculture and livestock to STEM, healthy living, public speaking, photography, cooking, and community service.
Local club leaders play a vital role in helping youth succeed. Volunteers provide guidance during monthly meetings, encourage participation in educational activities, and help create positive experiences for young people. No previous 4-H experience is required. Training and support are provided through Oklahoma State University Extension.
“Many of our most impactful volunteers simply have a passion for helping youth learn and grow,” said Emily Dumas, McClain County 4-H Youth Development Educator. “Whether you have experience in agriculture, education, business, technology, or simply enjoy working with young people, there is a place for you in 4-H.”
Volunteer opportunities are available for individuals, parents, grandparents, retirees, and community members who want to invest in the next generation. Leaders help youth develop valuable life skills while building stronger communities through service and educational programming. As 4-H membership continues to grow across Mc-Clain County, additional volunteers are needed to ensure youth in Purcell, Washington and Wayne have access to quality programs and opportunities close to home.
