OTA, NPWA ready to begin on $8 million in utility relocations

A low bid of $8,026,970 was approved to construct utility relocations for the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority utility relocation project in partnership with the Newcastle Public Works Authority.

The bid was one of 10 that came in on the project to Wall Engineering, who is working on the utility relocations. The winning bid went to Mach Energy Services, LLC, of Oklahoma City.

Being built is a sewer crossing and sewer main along and across the H.E. Bailey Turnpike. It will be located approximately 1,775 feet southwest of the 24th Street Bridge. As well, the job includes multiple crossings for either steel encasement for future water and sewer mains, and multiple water main connections and utility crossings. At the same time, there will be clean up on water main abandonments.

For comparison purposes, the high bidder on the utility relocations project came in at $16,398,355.

In related news, Allen Contracting is working with the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority and will be opening a temporary concrete plant near the former Snow Drive. They have requested City water to service the plant.
