Newcastle’s 2026 Racer Fastpitch season is underway, and the Racers are participating in the Class 4A-1 District.
They currently have a 2-3 record and are in third place with Tuttle (5-1) and Purcell (4-1) in the number one and two positions. Other teams are Cushing, Seminole, Harrah and Perkins-Tryon.
The Racers started the year off with an 8-3 loss to Bethel on August 10, but then rallied back for a 12-0 win over Little Axe on August 11.
At the Broken Arrow Festival over the weekend, Newcastle whalloped Class 6A Putnam City North, 20-1, but then lost to Class 6A Edmond Santa Fe, 3-0, and to Class 6A Sand Springs, 4-2.
Newcastle played Lindsay on Monday this week, and then had their first District matchup at Perkins-Tryon on Tuesday.
They play Seminole today (Thursday) in a District match, before heading tomorrow (Friday) to the Hall of Fame Festival at Devon Park in Oklahoma City, where they are scheduled to play Chisholm, Clinton, Marlow and Chickasha. Competition after that includes Purcell, Cushing, Tuttle, Harrah, Bethel and another game against Perkins-Tryon.
